2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup mashed banana
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans, optional

Directions:

Oven to 350º
Grease bottom of loaf pan. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda in large bowl. Add shortening, bananas and eggs. Mix until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Pour into loaf pan. Bake 60-70 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
