"The tradition of Italian cooking is that of the matriarch. This is the cooking of grandma. She didn't waste time thinking too much about the celery. She got the best celery she could and then she dealt with it."--Mario Batali

2 c graham cracker crumbs
1 tsp. cinnamon
⅔ c brown sugar
⅔ c butter-melted
⅓ c almonds-chopped(optional)

2 8 oz. packages cream cheese-softened
2 cans sweetened canned milk
⅔ c lemon juice
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cans cherry pie filling

Preheat oven to 375.
Mix crust ingredients together and press into lightly sprayed 13 x 9 2 inch baking dish.
Bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool several minutes.

Whip cream cheese until smooth. Add canned milk, lemon juice (will not make dessert taste lemony, just tart) and vanilla. Blend until smooth. Spread evenly over crust. Chill at least 2 hours. Top with cherry pie filling.
Keep in refrigerator until serving.
