2 1/3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/3 tsp. cloves
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 tsp. all spice
1 tsp. salt
1 c. butter or shortening
1 1/4 c. brown sugar (firmly packed)
2 eggs beaten well
1/3 c. strong coffee

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour once, measure, add baking soda, spices and salt and sift together 3 times. Cream butter thoroughly, add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Add flour alternately with coffee a small amount at a time.

Bake in a greased 9" x 13"pan at 350º for 30-35 minutes.
