Ingredients:
Ingredients:
bag of Vidalia onions
1-2 sticks of butter, depending on the number of onions
water

Directions:
Directions:
Slice or dice the onions and place in a large skillet on low heat. Add chunks of butter and a few tbsp water and stir.

Cover and let cook, checking on the onions every 15-20 min. This will take several hours. Add butter as needed (so the onions don't burn) and when the onions turn dark brown and are clear and limp they are caramelized.

Place spoonfuls into jelly jars. Place the full jars with lids on into a large pan of boiling water until the lids seal. You can also spoon it into sandwich bags and freeze.

Personal Notes:
This is a good go-to for burgers, on top of casseroles and on other meats. Can be frozen to use later too. A great flavoring for a number of dishes.
