4 Tbsp butter
4 Tbsp flour
½ tsp salt
dash of pepper
2 c milk or liquid

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter over medium heat. Add flour, salt and pepper. Slowly add milk or liquid, stirring continuously. Cook until thickened. This recipe may be doubled easily.

This white sauce is the one I used when making Pea and Asparagus Casserole. Also, great base for a cheese sauce. Just add amount and kind of cheese desired.
