1 pint sour milk
1 Tablespoon shortening
½ tsp. soda
3 heaping tsps. baking powder
1 tsp. salt.

Directions:
Mix first five ingredients. Add enough flour to make a dough that is easy to handle. Knead until smooth. Roll out to ½ inch thickness. Divide in portions equal to a medium sized biscuit; cut two or three slits in this and cook in a kettle of deep fat.
