3 c. Milk, scalded
1 t. Salt
3 T. Sugar
4 T. Butter
8 c. Flour, divided
1 cake Yeast
¼ c. Water

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl add salt, sugar, and butter. Pour milk over this and let sit until lukewarm. While this is cooling mix yeast and water in a small bowl and set aside. Mix in 4 c. of flour into the milk mixture and mix well. Add yeast mixture stir to combine. Let rise in a warm place until doubled. Add remaining flour to create a kneadable dough. Turn out onto floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic. Roll out dough to half an inch thick and cut out circular shapes with cookie cutter. Brush each shape with melted butter and fold in half pressing the edges together. Place in buttered pan one inch apart and let rise until very light. Bake for 15 minutes in a quick oven or until golden brown. Serve hot.
