This recipe for Elephant Stew, by Diane Lee, is from Grandma Carol's Favorite Recipes,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 medium size elephant (preferably dead) 2 rabbits (optional) Salt and Pepper to taste
Cut the elephant into small, bite size pieces. Add enough brown gravy to cover. Cook over kerosene for 4 weeds at 465 º. This will serve 3,800 people. If more are expected you can add the two rabbits;but only do this in an emergency. Most people don't like hare in their stew.
