Three-fourths cup peanut butter
½ cup shortening
⅓ cup sugar
⅓ cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1½ cups unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt

54 Hershey's Kisses (9-ounce package)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375º F.

Blend peanut butter and shortening in large mixer bowl.
Add ⅓ cup sugar and brown sugar; cream until light and fluffy.
Add egg, milk, and vanilla; beat well.
Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture.
Blend well.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar.
Place on un-greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375º F for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
Remove from oven; immediately place unwrapped chocolate on top of each cookie, pressing down so that cookie cracks around the edge.
Remove from cookie sheet; cool on wire rack.

This was another holiday favorite my mom (Aunt Janice) would make, although I see zero reason why we should limit these cookies to just Christmas time. They're delicious!
