1/3 c. butter, softened
2/3 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 t. vanilla
3-1/2 c. flour
1 t salt
1 t baking soda
2 c 12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
1 c. chopped walnuts (opt)
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, salt and baking soda; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts.

Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 10-11 min or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire racks.
