2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup water
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
Frosting:
1/2 cup butter
2 Tablespoons cocoa
1/4 cup milk
3-1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour and sugar in a separate bowl. Put butter, shortening, water, and cocoa into a sauce pan and heat to boiling. Pour mixture over flour and sugar. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla. Mix well on high speed with an electric mixer. Pour onto a greased cookie sheet (17 1/2 x 11 inch) pan.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15-18 minutes or until brownies test done in center. While brownies are baking combine butter, cocoa and milk in a saucepan. Heat to boiling, stir constantly. Mix in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth. Pour warm frosting over brownies as soon as you take them out of the oven. Let cool and cut.
