1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Grease 8 inch square pan.
Melt butter, pour into bowl and stir in sugar.
Add eggs and beat until well blended.
Combine buttermilk with baking soda and stir into mixture.
Blend in cornmeal, flour and salt until well mixed.
Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake 30-40 minutes.
