1 cup butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons maraschino cherry juice
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
6 drops red food coloring
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 cup chopped, drained maraschino cherries
3/4 cup miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat butter, powdered sugar, salt, cherry juice, almond extract, and food coloring (if using). Gradually beat in flour.
Add in chopped cherries while mixer is on low speed. Remove bowl from mixer and fold in chocolate chips.
Drop rounded tablespoonful onto parchment lined cookie sheets.
Bake at 350 degrees for 8 - 10 minutes or until slightly browned on the edges.
Transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Store in airtight containers.
