2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. orange juice
1 tbsp. orange rind
1 egg well beaten
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 c. fresh cranberries chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, sugar and baking powder, baking soda and salt. Put in shortening until mixture crumbles. Mix juice, rind and egg. Pour into dry ingredients all at once. Mix until dampened. Fold in nuts and berries. Bake at 350 in a 9x5x3 pan for 1 hour.
