2/3 c. shortening
1 1lb can pumpkin
4 eggs
2/3 c. water
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 1/2 tsp. salt.
2/3 c. nut meats (chopped)
2/3 c. dates (chopped)

Bake in 2 loaves at 350 for 1 hour 15 minutes.
