1/2 cup margarine
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp soda
2 cups flour
1/2 cups walnuts
4 diced apples shredded
2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Cream margarine and sugar in bowl. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in walnuts, apples and vanilla. Sift flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, soda and flour together, Add to egg mixture, mixing well. Pour into well-greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes, Top with caramel sauce.

Caramel Sauce
1 cup cream
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter melted

Combine cream, sugar, and butter in top of double boiler. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Serve over warm cake. Top with whipped cream.
