Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Use 1 pound dried pinto beans.
2 slices bacon or small piece salt pork.

Directions:
Directions:
Sort through the beans to pick out rocks and dirt. Wash beans thoroughly. In large sauce pan cover beans with water about 2 inches over beans. Add the bacon or salt pork. Cover and cook at a very low boil for 2 to 4 hours or until beans are tender. Check water often so they don’t boil dry. Season to taste with salt, pepper, oregano, onion or chili powder.
Option: beans can soak overnight covered with water so they will cook faster
