Ingredients:
Cake:
2 cups cooking oil
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons cocoa
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1/2 ounce red food coloring
2-1/2 cups plain flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Frosting:
1 stick butter
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 cup nuts, chopped
1 box powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2-3 Tablespoons milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cake:
Cream oil and sugar, add eggs and beat well. In a small bowl, mix together the cocoa, coloring and vinegar. Add to egg mixture. Sift flour, soda and salt together. Add alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla and blend well. Bake at 325º for 15-20 minutes.

Frosting:
Cream butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy. Add about half of the powdered sugar and the milk, then add remaining sugar. Add vanilla and nuts. Mix well.

Split the cake layers to make four layers and ice the cake. (I find it necessary to double the frosting recipe.)
