1 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
5 cups flour
2 tsp cloves
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
3 cups sugar
1 large can pumpkin
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp allspice
2 tsp cinnamon'1 12 ounce package chocolate chips

Cream shortening and sugar. Mix in eggs. Add pumpkin and vanilla. Mix well. Add dry ingredients. Drop by T onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
