Cake
2 Cups sugar
3/4 cup margarine
2 eggs
1 cup sour milk - add a tablespoon or lemon juice or vinegar to milk)
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup of cocoa
1 cup boiling water

Vanilla Frosting:
3 cups confectioners' sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 to 2 tablespoons milk
Directions:
Directions:
Mix together sour milk and vanilla - set aside
Mix together flour, soda, salt and cocoa - set aside
With mixer
Cream margarine and sugar
Add eggs (on at a time) beating well after each egg
Start adding about 1/4 of flour mixture, then beat in 1/3 of milk mixture - alternate flour with milk; ending with flour
Mix well
Add add of the water at once and blend
9x12 pan - bake at 350 for 45 minutes
2 - 9 inch round cake pans - back at 350 for 30 minutes
Let cake cool before frosting

Vanilla Frosting
In a mixing bowl with an electric mixer on low speed, combine the confectioners' sugar, butter, and 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla. Increase the mixer to medium speed and beat in 1 tablespoon of milk. Add more milk, as needed, to make a creamy, spreadable frosting.
Can sub vanilla out for lemon juice for a lemon frosting
