Cookie Crust

1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup oil
2 eggs beaten
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
teaspoon salt
5 cups flour

Cream sugars and butter together. Add remaining ingredients and blend. Cover an chill. Pat half of the dough onto a jelly roll pan. Save the other dough of other uses such as cut out Cookies. Bake until light or golden brown in a preheated 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool.

Cream to cover dough:

8 ounces cream cheese, 1 teaspoon vanilla, cup sugar.

Mix cream cheese, vanilla and sugar in mixer until well blended. Spread over cooled crust. Cover cream cheese with a mixture of cut up fruit.


Glaze:

3 tablespoons cornstarch
to 1 cup sugar depending on sweetness desired
Dash salt
cup water
1 cup orange juice
cup lemon juice

Combine glaze ingredients and boil for 1 minute until thick. Cool and drizzle over fruit. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

This is an old recipe I got from the Montgomery County Maryland Homemakers Cookbook. It is a great dessert for a hot summer evening.
