Poppy Seed Almond Cake Recipe

2 1/4 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 cup milk
1 1/8 cup oil
1 1/2 T poppy seeds
2 tsp almond extract
1 1/2 tsp butter flavoring
3 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder

Beat eggs. Mix in sugar, milk, oil, vanilla, and butter flavoring. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Add to liquid mixture. Add poppy seeds. Pour into 4 small, 2 large or 1 angel or bundt cake pan. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Cool 5 minutes and turn out on rack. Top with glaze.

1/4 cup orange juice
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
1/2 tsp butter flavoring

Mix orange juice, sugar, vanilla, almond and butter flavoring until sugar is dissolved. Brush on cool cake with pastry brush.
