3/4 cup butter
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 1/4 tsp soda
1 1/3 cup water
1 3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup cocoa
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat 1 minute. Combine dry ingredients alternately with water. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.

Chocolate Buttercream Frosting:
6 T butter
1/3 cup milk
cocoa to taste (1/3 cup for light, 1/2 cup for medium, 3/4 cup for dark)
2 2/3 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
