c butter or margarine
c peanut butter
c sugar
c brown sugar
1 egg
tsp vanilla
1 c sifted flour
tsp soda
tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly cream butter, peanut butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients; blend into creamed mixture, shape in 1 inch balls; roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart in ungreased cookie sheet. Here's the tricky part, atop each cookie criss-cross with fork lines. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes. Cool slightly; remove from pan.

One of Wileen's niece's had a memory..."I have a vivid memory of Aunt Wileen's peanut butter cookies, she made them for us when we were little. I always thought she was able to work magic, I couldn't figure out how she was able to get the criss-cross pattern on the cookies."
