3/4 lbs ground pork
3/4 lbs ground beef
2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3/4 cup of rice (not instant) rinse well
Large Onion minced
3 tablespoon shortening
1 large head of cabbage
1 can sour sauerkraut
1 large can of tomato juice

Directions:
Directions:
Core Cabbage and freeze cabbage
Place in sink of warm water and separate leaves
Brown onion in shortening
Add meat and seasoning and rice
Mix well
Cut center vein of each cabbage leave
Loosely place meat mixture on leaf
Roll and tuck ends in
Use some of the cabbage leaves to line the bottom of pan (protects cabbage rolls from burning)
Cover rolls with sour sauerkraut
Fill pan with water (about 1/3 way up)
Pour in with tomato juice
Cover pot and cook very slowly (low heat) for about 3 hours
