2 c white sugar
¾ c butter
1⅓ c milk
5 egg whites
½ tsp lemon extract
4 c cake flour
¼ tsp salt
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir dry ingredients together three or four times. Add milk and dry ingredients to butter mixture alternately adding extracts. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites last. Bake at 350º until done. Makes three 8 in or 9 in layers.
