1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
3 T cocoa
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup hot water
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Sift and add dry ingredients. Add water and buttermilk. (Janice cooks in a 10 x 14 " pan but a 9 x 13 can be used if cooking time is adjusted). Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
