3 lbs. brisket or chuck and short ribs, cut into cubes
G Washington to season meat
2 tbsp. matzo meal
3 cups boiling water
4 tbsp. brown sugar
5 large carrots cut
4 white potatoes cubed
4 sweet potatoes cubed

Directions:
Directions:
Season meat and place in dutch oven with little butter and oil. Brown slowly over low heat. Add matzo and water stirring until water boils, add brown sugar. In large baking dish, place carrots, potatoes and meat, then pour liquid over all and cook for 2 hours. Taste and correct seasonings. Mix all together trying not to mash too much.Test meat and potatoes to see if they are tender. If not cover and cook for another hour or more.
