Notes: This simple recipe is our go-to family cake. It has been used for countless birthdays and has been made and decorated by Emma for several First Communion parties.
It can be easily doubled and used to make a layer cake. I sometimes use the doubled recipe for a 10 inch round pan and bake it for 35 to 40 minutes.
