1-1/2 cups plain flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla
One egg
1/4 cup milk
1 package (1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 cup salted cocktail peanuts

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
Combine the brown sugar, shortening and vanilla and beat until creamy.
Add the egg and continue to beat. Then add the flour mixture alternately with the milk.
Stir in the chocolate morsels and peanuts.
Drop by level Tablespoons onto greased cookie sheets and bake at 375º for 10-12 minutes.
Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
