Apples
1 cup sugar
½ pound red hot
2 cups of water
Topping:
3 ounces cream cheese
1 Tablespoon Mayonnaise
*Chopped pecans optional

Directions:
Directions:
Melt red hots in water. Peel apples, cut in half, and remove core. Place apple halves in red hot water; simmer. After cooked but not falling apart, remove from heat and let apples sit in red hot water. The longer they sit the redder they get.
Carefully remove from pan. Chill. You don't serve with liquid.
Whip cream cheese and mayonnaise together. Place Apple on serving plate without liquid and fill cavity in apple with cream cheese mixture. *Sprinkle with pecans on top of cream cheese. Serve chilled.
My mother made these at Christmas time. One each per person. They tasted delicious.
