2¼ c lukewarm water
1 package yeast (1 Tbsp)
1 Tbsp salt
½ c sugar
½ melted shortening
1 egg
5½-6 c flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together water, yeast, salt and sugar in large bowl and let sit for 15 minutes or more with plate over it. Add 3 cups flour, shortening and egg. Add remaining flour; knead it and let rise until double in size. Make into rolls and let rise 1 hour. Bake at 425º until brown.

Personal Notes:
If you have extra dough, keep in refrigerator and make into rolls as you need them. Let rise 1 hour before you bake. This will keep up to a week, and also may be used for cinnamon rolls and donuts.
