1 recipe brownies (follow the box directions for cake-like brownies - adding an egg, etc.)
Add 1/2 tsp peppermint extract to the brownie batter
Bake as directed in 9 x 13 pan

Let cool at least 20 minutes (longer is better)
Spread with mint frosting (it will be a thin layer)

Mint Frosting:
3 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp milk
1 tsp peppermint extract
1 cups powdered sugar

Chill in fridge at least 5 minutes (longer is better)

Melt 1 Tbsp butter and 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate over low heat or in microwave on low.
Brush chocolate over frosting
When set, cut into squares or sticks

Great chilled, but room temperature is good too! Make sure peppermint extract isn't more than a couple years old.
