2 C Sugar
¼ tsp. Salt
1 C Light Corn Syrup
1 C Water
2 lbs. (3 C) Unshelled Peanuts
2 Tbsp. Butter
2 Tbsp. Vanilla
2 tsp. Baking Powder

Directions:
Butter 15 X 10 pan.

Blend sugar, salt, corn syrup and water in large, heavy sauce pan.

Cook over high heat to boiling. Let mixture reach thread stage (234 F), stirring constantly.

Add shelled peanuts slowly, stirring constantly, keeping mixture bubbling. Continue to cook over high heat, stirring constantly, for 8 minutes.

Stir in butter or margarine. Continue to cook 2 minutes longer, or to 300 F.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Sprinkle baking soda over mixture and stir vigorously for about 15 seconds.

Pour immediately into pan and let cool.
