1 c. flour
2/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. cloves
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. sweetened applesauce
1 egg
1/2 c. raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Combine in a bowl. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Spread in a greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 350º for 25-30 minutes or until it springs back when touched lightly in the center. Cool and frost.
 

BROWNED BUTTER ICING

2 tsp. butter
2 tbsp. milk
2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Brown butter in a saucepan, stir in milk, powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat until smooth. If necessary, thin with additional milk.
