½ c butter
¾ c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
1 c sifted flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
½ pint dairy sour cream
6 tbsp soft butter
1 c brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 c chopped nuts

Directions:

Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, beating well after each addition

Sift flour with baking powder and soda. Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, blending after each addition.

Spread half the batter in a 10-inch tube pan that had been greased and lined on the bottom with wax paper.

Cream butter, brown sugar and cinnamon together. Add nuts. Mix well. Dot batter in pan evenly with half of hte nut mixture. Cover with remaining batter and dot with remaining nut mixture.

Bake in preheated oven 350º about 50 minutes. Cool cake 10 minutes then remove from pan.

For a change, bake the cake in a 9x13 pan, sprinkling the top with all of the topping instead of making two layers of the cake.
