4 lbs fancy corned beef brisket
1 medium cabbage, cored and sliced

Directions:

Wipe off the corned beef, cover with cold water, bring to a boil, and boil for 5 minutes. Remove scum, then cover and simmer until tender, allowing about 3 hours. About 30 minutes before completion of cooking, skim all the excess fat from the meat stock, add the cabbage, then cook until tender. Serve meat on platter with cabbage around it, and sprinkle fo paprika over all.
