6-8 medium Potatoes

3 tbsp butter

3 tbsp all purpose flour

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

2 1/2 cups milk

4 oz shredded cheddar cheese

1 Small onion

1 tbsp butter

1-1/2 lbs cubed ham

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350
Peel and thinly slice potatoes
In a sauce pan heat 3 tbsp butter over low heat until melted add flour, salt, and pepper while using a whisk constantly until smooth. Whisk in milk a little at a time keeping the consistency thick before adding more milk. slowly add cheese
a little at a time whisking constantly.
In a greased 2 Qt casserole dish layer potatoes topping each layer with onion and ham. Put pads of butter on top, cover and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake until potatoes are tender about 1 -1 1/2 hrs.
