Creamy Butter Frosting


Ingredients:

½ cup butter or margarine
3 ½ cups powdered sugar
2 egg whites or 1 egg
1 ½ tsp vanilla
few grains salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and eggs until light and fluffy. Add sugar gradually, beating well. Add salt and vanilla; beat until fluffy. Add a few drops of milk if frosting is too thick. Makes enough to frost two layers or an oblong cake.
 

Quick Pour Frosting


Ingredients:

9 cups powdered sugar
¾ cup water food coloring, optional
3 Tbsp light corn syrup
1 ½ tsp almond extract

Directions:
Directions:
Place sugar in a heavy saucepan. Combine water and corn syrup. add to sugar and stir until well mixed. Place over low heat. Do not allow temperature to exceed 100°F. Remove from heat, stir in flavor and food coloring. Pour over cookies or cake and allow to set until hardened. Can be reheated as necessary to make workable.
