3 1/2 c flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
1 c shortening
2 c brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c buttermilk
1 1/2 c chopped pecans
2 c chopped candied cherries
2 c chopped dates
1/4 c chopped crystalized ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour salt and soda. Mix shortening, sugar eggs until creamy. Blend in flour and milk. Stir in nuts, cherries, dates and ginger. Refrigerate 1 hour. Grease cookie sheet. Drop from spoon and press with fork. Top with nuts or cherries. Bake at 400ºF for 10 min.
