2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
1Cup Butter (decrease by one tablespoon of Shortening is used)
5 Eggs
1 2/3 Cups Sifted Sugar
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Directions:
Directions:
Soft flour, measure and soft again five times. Cream butter, add sugar a c beat until no sugar grains appear. Then add one egg and beat until no one egg can be seen; add another egg proceed as before. When the last egg has been added, beat long and hard. Add the flour, beat and when it becomes a creamy mass, add vanilla. Put in greased and floured 9-inch tube. Bake at 275 degrees for 1 hour, or until done.
