1 c. chopped dates
3/4 c. nut meats
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. butter
1 c. water (boiling)
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dates, nut meats, baking soda, salt and butter. Pour boiling water over mixture. Then add sugar, eggs, flour and vanilla. Bake at 300 for 15 minutes. Then bake at 325 for 30-45 minutes depending on pan. 1 large loaf pan.
