1 to 2 ham hocks, cured
1 lb bag great northern beans
10 pepper corns
3-4 medium potatoes
pearl onions (optional)
salt, as needed

Directions:
Directions:
The night before, soak beans in water for a few hours. In a crock pot, combine soaked beans, ham hock, and peppercorns. Cover with approximately 2 inches of water and cook on low overnight.
In the morning, remove ham hocks from water. Remove bones and skin from hocks before replacing in the crock pot.
Peel and cube potatoes and add to crock pot. Add salt if needed. cover and cook on low until potatoes are tender.
