1 cup corn meal
1 cup flour
¼ cup sugar
4 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk
¼ lard or shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients in medium bowl. Create a well in the center of these ingredients. Combine milk, egg, and shortening in small bowl. Pour into well of dry ingredients; stir until just moistened. Pour into cast iron skillet or pan, bake in 425° oven for 20-25 minutes or until browned.
