1½ cup flour
½ tsp. salt
¼ cup lard
¼ cup butter
3 to 4 Tbsp. milk

Sift together flour and salt. Cut in butter and lard until mixture resembles small peas. Sprinkle milk over the flour mixture one tablespoon at a time, mixing lightly with a fork after each addition. Gather up dough with fingers; shape into a ball. Chill dough for a short time. Roll out the dough the usual way.
