Ingredients:  
1 cup sifted flour
tsp. baking powder
tsp. baking soda
tsp. salt
cup sugar
cup brown sugar
cup shortening
1 egg
tsp. vanilla
cup quick oatmeal
cup nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together. Cream together sugar, brown sugar, shortening, egg and vanilla. Mix with sifted ingredients; add oats and nuts. Form into small balls. Dip tops in sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.
