"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons of boiling water
1 teaspoon soda
Vanilla (I am sure it was 1 teaspoon)
Nutmeg ( I would go with 1/2 teaspoon)
1 cup nuts
4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
That is all I have... no directions... so I did some research

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl cream butter, white, sugar, brown sugar, and egg. Add vanilla and boiling water.

In a separate bowl sift flour, salt, nutmeg, and soda. Add into the liquid mixture. Stir well.

Place cookies on a baking sheet and bake for about 12-14 minutes.

For the best results, freeze them after they are cool! They are SO good frozen!
