Cream 1 1/2 cups of shortening with 2 cups of sugar. Add 3 eggs beaten until light & creamy. Sift four cups of flour with one teaspoonful of baking powder and a little salt. Add one teaspoon of vanilla. Add one cup of chopped nuts. Mix all thoroughly. Make a long roll and wrap with wax paper. Put in refrigerator overnight. Slice and bake at 400 until crisp.
