1/4 c. butter 3/4 c. shortening 1 tbsp. vanilla 1 tsp. almond extract 1/2 c. powdered sugar 1/2 c. chopped nuts 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt
Cream shortening, sugar and butter. Blend in vanilla and almond. Add nuts. Sift flour and salt, add to creamed mixture and mix until dough is smooth and well blended. Shape into small balls and flatten slightly. Then decorate. Bake at 325º for 25 minutes.
