Fruit Cocktail Cake Recipe

From Gramma Georgia's recipe box


1 cup flour
1 cup white sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
tsp. baking powder
tsp. salt
1 egg, slightly beaten
⅔ cup fruit cocktail juice
1 can drained fruit cocktail, reserve juice
Topping - mix together:
cup brown sugar
cup chopped nuts, optional

Sift together flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Mix in egg and fruit cocktail juice; add the drained fruit cocktail. Put in an 8-inch pan. If desired sprinkle on topping.

Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes. Serve topped with whip cream or ice cream. Add cherry to top for color.
